Third Stop: Noosa [Coast Northern Region]
We arrived on the Sunshine Coast just before Easter, the school holidays were in full swing and it was busy, but we really wanted to make sure we didn’t hit Fraser Island during this time and it meant there was lots going on in the area. The weather also put on a show for us, it was sunny on the Sunshine Coast (SC)We stayed in three different areas both on the coast and the Hinterland and used the brilliant Journey Guide of the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland National Parks as our bible for planning trips. [Pick one up at the tourist Information Centre] Most days unless we had a monster cardio day, we hit the Jets gym’s in the area too.
After what seemed never ending school, Easter and Public holidays we headed to Noosa River Caravan Park for four nights by the river with a little less hustle and bustle and gorgeous sunsets.
It was sad to say goodbye to our new DOT friends today and we are already making plans to meet up again. Thanks guys for an awesome long weekend. Next stop on the Sunshine Coast was Noosa and on our way up we went back into Eumundi on a non market day, to checkout the rest of the shops that looked interesting to explore. We had coffee, juice and brunch in the General Store café and sat in one of their big window seats, which was lovely. After a quick look around the shops, we setup in Noosa and had an explore.
We explored Noosa by river and by foot today using the Noosa Ferry Classic Cruise All day Pass. First stop was Noosa Heads to have a look around the shops on Hasting Street before spending time on the stunning Main Beach as it was a glorious sunny day. We then jumped back onboard for more entertaining jovial banter from the ferry man and up to Tewantin to explore more shops around the harbour and have lunch at Italian Marina Restaurant & Pizza. We walked back along the foreshore to the campsite to prepare for our Everglades trip the next day
DAY 3 [Kayaking]
We joined the Discovery Group tour of the Noosa Everglades today, check out our trip report of our time on the river of mirrors here, rounding off the day with drinks and nibbles at the Boatshed for a sundowner. Also checkout their overnight canoe trip which looks awesome.
DAY 4 [HIKE]
On our final day in Noosa we explored the National Park and did the 7.5km circular walk (which started on the Tanglewood track, hit the Alexander Bay and took us along the beach and finally the coastal track) which took in a mixture of bush and beach walking. The views from Hells Gate were spectacular and the fairy pools stunning. We finished by having a coffee at Café Le Monte in Noosa Heads, which did amazing Tanglewood cookies which we though was a nice finish to our day.
